Product Line Manager Automotive (m/f/d)

Bourns Inc. is a leading manufacturer and supplier of automotive sensors and passive components headquartered in Riverside, California. For our Automotive Division we are looking for an experienced candidate to cover our Product Line for Fuel Cards.

Your Tasks:
  • Develops mid-term and long-term product line strategy in alignment with divisional goals and objectives.
  • Prepares a product line business plan annually or more frequently as required, to detail activities and improvements planned for the forthcoming periods. Establishes and updates tactical plans that meet product line objectives.
  • Monitors and analyzes market trends and customer needs. Formulates new product initiatives to address these needs, creates a product line roadmap, and works with Engineering and Program Management to bring new products to the market.
  • Manages the product portfolio through the various product life cycles.
  • Establishes and controls product pricing strategy in accordance with market developments and in consultation with the divisional VP/GM.
  • Ensures that RFQ’s are responded to in a timely and professional manner using the defined processes for each product family.
  • Performs market and competitive analysis including benchmark of the competition, as appropriate.
  • Works with the sales organization to champion, promote, and grow the product line to optimize market share, revenues, and profitability..
  • Drives quality issue resolution in partnership with the Quality Assurance teams.
  • Establishes SMART goals for direct reports and continually reviews performance, provides leadership, mentorship, and advise, to ensure that product line goals and objectives are achieved..
  • Ensures that the product line’s business practices are acceptable within the bounds of proper business ethics and legal practice and compliant with corporate policies and procedures..
Your Profile:
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with an Engineering Degree (Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred), or equivalent education, training or experience. Advance degree in marketing or business administration is desirable.
  • A minimum of 15 years of relevant professional experience in engineering and/or program management within a complex and global automotive manufacturing of electromechanical sensor products. Proven track record of increasing responsibility and management experience. Prior experience in leading direct reports and project based highly global matrixed cross-functional teams.
  • Must have very good communication and time management skills, be able to continually evaluate priorities and make appropriate adjustments.
  • Financial acumen is required. Must possess potential to grow into future roles with increasing responsibilities.
  • Very good language skills in English.
  • Travel required depending on business needs.
