Area Sales Manager (m/w/d) - Eastern Germany

We are currently seeking a qualified and ambitious Area Sales Manager (m/f/d) in Germany/DACH.

Your Tasks:
  • Develops new business for Bourns (new customers, identifies product gaps, advises about trends and needs) and assists customers in adopting company products to their own requirements and specifications. Drives Design Ins and Design Wins at those customers.
  • Obtains purchase orders from customers within territory, Insures proper handling of customer orders.
  • Coordinates Bourns contacts at the customers. The ASM will be the interface for all Bourns functions i.e. Field Application Engineer (FAE), Market Director (MD) and Product Line Manager (PLM).
  • Makes an optimum number of face-to-face sales calls to engineering, procurement and other related departments for the purpose of product presentations, pursuing information and obtaining sales orders..
  • Acquires comprehensive knowledge of all customer personnel and products.
  • Presents a professional demeanour and image to the customer and within Bourns.
  • Achieves monthly sales booking and billing quotas, Point of Sales (POS) goals and forecasts
  • Makes consistent effort to improve knowledge of Bourns product portfolio.
  • Responds to management requests and directives in a positive way.
  • Provides Director Sales with a customer / product forecast on regular basis.
  • Submits to Director Sales monthly information (projects, sales figures, etc.) on customers and market trends.
  • Remains alert to competitive products and merchandising practices, and keeps management informed concerning them..
Your Profile:
  • Graduation from a college or university with a technical, ideally electronics degree
  • 3-5 years experience in various Sales assignments and Business Administration
  • Commercial know-how and electronic components background
  • Self-starter mentality
  • Strong problem solving, strategic and tactical thinking, as well analytical skills
  • Clear, structured thinker with the ability to execute on priorities
  • Ability to effectively work under pressure and to meet challenging targets
  • Ability to interpret customer specifications and requirements and make recommendatios to customer engineers
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (team player) – communication and integration of processes across BOURNS
  • Readiness to travel - Job duties may require up to 80% travel to maximize time in front of customers and distribution partners
  • Fluent command of English & the languages spoken with his/her area of responsibilities.
