Systems Engineer (m/f/d)

Bourns Inc. is a leading manufacturer and supplier of automotive sensors and passive components headquartered in Riverside, California. For our Electrical Engineering Team located in Taufkirchen we are looking for a new Systems Engineer.

Your Tasks:
  • Elicitation and definition of product requirements in cooperation with internal and external stakeholders (members of Bourns Automotive development and sales; customer)
  • Definition of engineering target and system architecture of sensors in compliance with ISO26262
  • Technical alignment and counselling with/of internal and external stakeholders
  • Team work on the creation of safety concepts and safety analyses like TSC, FTA, FMEDA, CCA, Interface Analysis, etc. according to ISO 26262
  • Management and tracking of system requirements through the development lifecycle including change management
  • Support of the development team in the definition of verification and validation tests sufficiently covering the requirements
  • Managing Requirements Traceability Matrices and associated statistics and Polarion Tool administration
  • Moderation and documentation of design FMEA’s in compliance with AIAG & VDA in APIS IQ RM tool
  • Implementing the in-house DFMEA process
  • Support of the definition of special characteristics
  • Alignment of top-level effects with internal and external stakeholders
  • Tracking risk level through the development life cycle.
Your Profile:
  • Engineering degree university or college in electrical engineering or similar
  • Knowledge on electro-mechanical systems with software
  • Several years of experience in Systems Engineering of embedded electro-mechanical systems
  • Experience on processes and methods of functional safety according ISO26262
  • Preferred: APIS IQ RM Software knowledge
  • PC/MS-Office knowledge
  • Excellent presentation skills towards cross functional teams and management within Bourns and at customer
  • Ability to work in teams and independently; ability to communicate development status and results to the team and constructively implement feedback from the development team; ability to coordinate and prioritize tasks
  • Open personality with strong communication skills, who enjoys working in international teams
  • Ability to solve complex problems with a minimum of directions
  • Very good language skills in German and English
