Senior Account Manager Automotive (m/w)


The Bourns Automotive Division has played a leading role in the design, development and manufacture of potentiometric sensors since 1949. At our engineering centers in Riverside/California, Munich/Germany, and Auburn Hills/Michigan, we develop and design an extensive range of customized automotive position, speed and torque sensors. We are currently seeking a qualified and ambitious Senior Account Manager Automotive (m/f) in Central Europe, preferred Germany.

Your Tasks:
  • Act as the central focus for assigned automotive accounts to maximize the design and sales of all Bourns’ products
  • Responsibility for the management and coordination of assigned automotive account activities in the assigned territory
  • Function as strategic planner and coordinator for assigned accounts
  • Achieve all sales targets at assigned accounts from design wins to purchase orders.
  • Coordinate the RFQ process for design contracts and annual negotiations and prepares strategy with assistance from Marketing/Product Management and Contracts Management.
  • Identify and posts all design-in opportunities within assigned accounts and executes all necessary actions to gain successful design wins. Bourns Opportunity Tracking System. Monitor the assigned key account towards technical trend in their designs, production changes and transfers, management, ownership, etc
  • Seek new uses and applications for company products. Assists customers in adopting company products to their own requirements and specifications
  • Develop and maintains relationships with key personnel at the assigned accounts in all areas of decision making. Representation of Bourns as a ‘leading supplier for electronic components’. Acquires comprehensive knowledge of all customer personnel and products
  • Present a professional demeanor and image to the customer and within Bourns
Your Profile:
  • Graduation from a college or university with a technical, ideally electronics degree
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in outside Sales, in-depth familiarity with the automotive market, Bourns or competitor´s experience or automotive sensor experience
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and sales teams
  • Entrepreneurial mindset
  • Must have a team selling aproach to the job
  • Must be familiar with strategic selling concept and able to put it into action
  • Strong problem solving, strategic and tactical thinking, as well analytic skills
  • Clear, structured thinker with the ability to execute on priorities
  • Ability to effectively work under pressure and to meet challenging targets
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (team player)
  • Excellent demonstrated presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English
  • Readiness to travel
